New Bike

Found this new ride for the GF. It was small enough that she can get her feet down, and cheap. Plus it seems to run quite well. '93 Nighthawk 250 w/ 5200 miles on the clock. I've actually ridden it to work one day when I managed to get my Busa blocked in the garage. (I can be a lazy dude in the morning).

Anyway, here it is in all it's glory.

Price was a selling point. After 2 brand new tires, insurance for the year, and all the tax and registration stuff, we've still got under a grand into it. It's a good starting point. She's taking the permit course on Saturday and we've already had the Honda in a parking lot a little. She's doing ok with it thus far.

I've been looking at these and Suzuki GZ250's for my wife. I'm just worried about getting her on my Vulcan 500 I think its a bit heavy for her yet. Nice bike.

I'd been looking a bit for some time. I wanted to stay relatively cheap, as it IS a first bike and she didnt care how new it was or about looks too much. (Color mattered of course

) I'd found a few newer Rebels and GZ250s, but they were upwards of 2500 and I was a bit concerned that even a slight mishap in a parking lot would take away half the bike's value. All in all it's a tiny little bike. It's quite odd riding it. The lack of acceleration, the lack of a tach, oh well. 600 bucks well spent I think.

Great starter bike. I did my saftey course, and my drivers test on one of those.
