Thx for the hospitality... just pickd her up and now i know what all the fuss is about...  ill post a pic when i get those ugly reflectors off

but ima leave um on for as long as i can for safety reasons...

as for the not being a good starter bike, bs!  only complaint - lil rough on the wrists but could just be my riding style...

prolly been 5 years since i was on a 600 F something and had no problems except for killing it taking off...  perhaps my idle is not set high enough...  a bit above 1k?  i try not to give her to much juice when i let the clutch off, but i do hear a kinda clinky noise as im letting off the clutch taking off in first.  is this normal until she gets broke in>?

any quick advice on shifting...? to lazy and not enough time to back and search for tips in the forumz...  seems like 2nd is good enough for town around 3-4k...  do u guys put her in first before turns? or is second ok?

and im in Quincy Il about 5-6 hrs from schaumburg...  although im thinkin about taken her up to chicago ina week or so.  tips on highway driving?

Welcome!! Just follow the manual and take it easy for the first 500 miles or so, then ride it like you mean it. I am originally from Wood River IL and have several friends there who ride Busas.

My best friend is Bob.  He is the Postamaster of Wood River PO. Stop in and say hi next time you are there.  Bob has a tricked out 02 silver Busa.

Be safe!

Postal.

This is what this board is all about possible owners thinking about a busa and then going out and getting one based on this board!!! You will find this board very useful and entertaining I'am just a newbie too and without the people on this board I'd be lost. Come here often and don't be afraid to ask questions!!!!! WELCOME TO THE BOARD:D

What gear to be in during turns? No offense intended but it's a bit worrisome hearing that question from someone sitting on a 190mph bike.

And the answer is...depends on the turn. I don't have a Busa but I'm at least in 2nd gear when I take any turn....unless I'm coming off a dead stop.

only reason i askd was to make sure that 2nd wouldnt be hard/boggn the engine down...  ide rathar ask then to scr*w my bike up...

and to be more specific, i was talking about normal slow town driving... they both seemd to work fine but that would be 1 less shift if it was in second... i barely get out of second gear in town...

Thx for the input, what i needed to know...
