I am buying a 05 Busa tomorrow morning and I am just wondering what kind of negotiating room any of you had when you bought your recent Hayabusas

You should be able to get it for well under 10K out the door. If not, shop around. You will be able to find this price.

Welcome to the board.

You will NOT get an '05 OUT THE DOOR (which means with tax, title, license, freight, and setup ON TOP of the negotiated price)...for "well under 10k"...

Not unless you have an in at that dealer. Dealer cost is around 9300 on the regular non-LE...figure tax alone, and you are already up around 10k...

If you can get a non-LE for around 10,500 or slightly under true out the door, that is a good deal. Under $11k OTD on a LE is a good deal.

On an '04...or any leftovers, sure...under 10k OTD easy...

On a non LE, I would shoot them a price around 10,200 out the door...and work up a bit, if need be, if they don't bite...

Oh...and don't get the extended warranty, and don't finance through them, if you are financing.

By the way...you may want to "try" negotiating out of the setup fee...and at the very least, have them toss in the first service. A deal on riding gear doesn't hurt either, but don't expect to get it free.

here in California, if I was able to get it for cost , the out the door price would still be around 10800, I guess our taxes are a lot higher here than WI. But thanks for the input. I know they have three at the store and I am not getting an LE, I am getting the red one that has a msrp of 10999

look around on the internet, print out some advertised OTD prices and take that in with you. let them know that they ain't doing you a favor by selling you one, you're doing them a favor by buying it from them. Walk away from it if you have to.

Welcome to the Board Cory, I'm in Los Angeles & I paid 10500 for my Busa. I think you should be able to get the LE for 10500 OTD or under.

Well if you'd told me that.........
Good luck with the whole thing, let us know how it works out.

Popular time of year to be buying a bike, so dealers may be less likely to negotiate. Good luck though and hope you wind up with one tomorrow!

sorry, I guess I forgot to mention that. I am going to call around the area, and get some prices and then take them to the local dealer and tell him take it or leave it. Of course I will try to get some dual yoshi pipes thrown in,lol

Dealer cost on a 05 LE is $9388 (including assembly)

If the cost is the same as back in 03 then dealer on a Regular Non-LE is $9143

They get a 3% holdback as well.

I hear you, and being in the business of sales, I dont have a problem with a dealer making some money, that is why they sell bikes in the first place, I just dont want to grossly over pay. If it was a car, which is my specialty, I would know all the answers but all my previous bikes were paid for by cash from private partys, so I appreciate all the help I have received so far from you guys.
