hi, the bike will not stay running unless the choke is on, even after it warms up. I'm guessing there has to be an idle adjustment screw somewhere. second thing, I can not remove the rae cowl. The short cable that goes from the rear key lock to where ever it it locks has come off. One end is connected to the key lock but the other end is off.

thanks for your assistance

do a search on the hump part i know that there have been several people that has not hooked the cable back up and put the hump on

Idle adjustment screw is a gold screw under the tank on the right side, under the throttle pulley. Many people set thiers to about 1150 - 1200.

Dependng on the type of undertail, you may be able to do the following. It will help to have someone with you. On the right side of Busa, undo the fairnig fasteners on the tail (metal fastener and pastic pop rivets). Pull the end of of the tail fairing away from the Busa as far as you can and slide your hand up and back. Have a friend apply a little upward pressure on the hump while you feel for the little cable lollypop; en you find it, push it towards the left side....

Good luck!

how do I get to the adjustment screw? do I remove any panels to reach under the tank? thanks

For your first time, it's easier to remove the front seat (two bolts, 5mm hex head) and then then raise the tank (two bolts up front, 4mm hex head).

On the right side (as you're sitting on the bike), look for the cam assembly with the throttle cables. Just below it, you'll see the idle screw - phillips head with a knurled head. Adjust it to like MC said, 1150 - 1200 RPM.

Now for future adjustments, since you've done this once and know what to look for, lower the tank and use a flashlight to look in the gap that's between frame and the tank - look for the idle screw. If you use a looong phillips screwdriver, you can reach the screw without raising the tank.
