Today I put a new rear tire on my 08. I've been hearing good things about the BT016 so decided to put on on went with a 190/55. I take the bike out for a shake down and it's like WOW!!! the front wants to come up on me much easier than usual. This is only the second tire I've ran on this bike and it makes me wonder... was the bt015 junk or is this just what new tires feel like? This was my first season riding so if some of you more expierenced folks could drop some knowledge on me it would be greatly appreciated.

The BT-016 is a decent all around tire but there are more tires to do more specific jobs like touring, racing or riding the twisties etc. So who makes this 190/55 tire.

Bridgestone, it's the BT015 replacement. The BT016 is what I'm putting on mine.:cheerleader:

Modern sports rubber is soooo good now, sticks like **** to a blanket.

I know I can't find their limits on the road (and only just on the track)

The Bridgestone BT-016 a good tire for sure...the 015 is also a good tire. The
main reason the 016 feels so good to you is that the 015 was worn out, the
profile gets all messed up and the tire dries out. This all happens very gradually,
so when you get a FRESH tire on there it is like WOW.

I have been running the 016 in the 190/55 since the tire came out

Yea until you hit a large patch of oil and suddenly you find more than the limits!

Spot on! I had to replace my 015 on 6300 km. There was no 016 available and I had to settle for another 015. What a change suddenly the bike turns again and feels like a balerina on her toes.

I love my 16's I have about 300 miles on them so far. I'll give more details on how they handle with wear and all that once I accumulate some more miles.

I know the 016 is a triple compound tire but....are the edges softer than the 015 for better grip at severe lean angles or....is the center a little harder than the 015 so that it doesn't wear out as fast. Nobody says which it is including bridgestones web site.???I think this is the tire I'll get to replace the worn out 015 rear on my K8 because the front is still Ok and I think It would match the 015 that's up front until the next tire change after this when I'll do both.

I don't know for sure how it compares to the 15, but I would think that bassed on the fact that it's a tripple compound it would be harder in the middle. It does, however, have good grip at extreme lean angles. I've had it ALMOST all the way to the edge and I feel confident on them. They're supposed to last longer, so I doubt they would make it softer (less mileage).

thanks , so they not for me, as i mostly commute 100miles a day

Not neccesarily. You never know till you try them yourself. Most people on here only get about 2000 out of the stock bt56. I got about 7000. It's all in how you ride. I mostly ride hwy, I don't romp on it ALL the time, and I don't ride as many twisties as I'd like to. That's why I went with the 016 this time. I wanted the triple compound to hopefully get more millage out of the center of the tire. I always wind up with a bald center and plenty on the sides. I'm hoping the triple compound with help it wear more evenly and get me more mileage. I guess we'll see!

BT021's or the Dunlop Roadsmarts would work good for you.

Bassed on what I've heard from people on here that have used the 21's, they don't last long at all. Every time I see a thread about the 21's it's a bunch of people talking bad about em. I can't say from experience cause I've never ridden on them, but that's what I've read on here. Have you used them and gotten different results?

I have over 110,000 miles between my two busa's and I work at a Motorsports store. my favorite tire for my type of riding has been the HPX. You should get 7,000 out of a 21 if you are just commuting.

Gotcha. Good info! What kind of riding do you do? What do you like about the HPX? I haven't heard a whole lot about them.

sry to steal thread:moon:, but i've decided between bt-016 and pilot road2, i ordered PR2(because there was more replies and good reviews for mileage than BT), but 2 days after store called me that they are out of stock, I'll have to wait 2 weeks, so now im started leaning towards BT-16:bowdown:. I read a lot reviews, but whats constant that bt-16 getting about 2000-5000 miles, why michelins 5000-9000 miles ( other tires were avons, but there were defects issues )
