Just put a set of M1's on and while I have not had a real chance to ride on them yet, my first impression is very good. They seem to have a nice neutral feel to the steering and also seem to roll in nicely. I will post up more on them once I have them broken in.

You will like them even more after they are scrubed in and you can push it.

I've got a set of pilot powers with five hundred miles on them I'll give you cheap if you want them. I'm taking them off on Monday and replacing them with a set of 14's or Corsa's? Which ever they happen to have on the shelf.

Heh, Just answer me this....

How do your Metzlers SMELL?

Seriously,

Do you notice a seriously strong rubber odor with your metzlers? I did.

I loved my M1's, the only problem was my Busa would eat the rear after ~3k miles. I recently purchased my second Avon....after >9000 miles on that puppy. I could have gotten even more out of it but I had a nail/plug so had to cut the last 2-300 miles off of her. I still love the metzelers though!

What tire pressures are you guys running in your M1's single and doubled up?

I noticed that Metzeler recomends 34 front and 36 rear.

great tires. I run 36 cold, both front and rear. I read somewhere 36 psi is what Metzler recommends...

Hey dude, great mileage on those Avons...but how's the grip?

I just put a set of m1's on my bike and had the suspension sag setup as well and OMG I am in love all over again. It's almost like I have a literbike to flip around now I swear the bike feels like it lost about 150lbs.

i had these on my old zx6e and loved them. got about 4k out of the back. how many miles can you get on the busa rear m1? it must be considerable less since my 80 hp 600 burned it up in 4k, and thats with 0 burnouts.

Krieg, wear at 36 is perfect...I ran 40 in my corsa's and it ate the middle out of the back tire in 1800 miles. My busa mechanic buddy told me to run 36 cold in the M1's. Second set, very impressed especially with the wet grip, not that I ride alot in the rain but there are those dewy damp mornings down here. My front made the whirring noise when new but now I can't hear it anymore. Gotta love that tire shop smell!

Thanks for the info. I have been running them at 38 so far but will drop it to 36. I noticed a little noise from the front too and am still hearing it. I only got about 50 miles on them yet though.

Got a chance to put 50 miles or so on today on some gentle curves and I came away very impressed. I haven't even got these fully scrubbed yet or got to some good twisties but I am really loving them. I lowered my pressure to 36 fornt and back and it seemed to make a noticable difference. They turn in very easy and have a very stable feel to them at lean angles. Also they heat quickly, even on cool days like today, and seem to hold their heat well. Thanks to everyone for helping me make the choice for the M1's. I think I found a tire I am going to stick with for a long while. I will post up a photo or two of the results of my Lolo Pass ride next week.
