New Swingarm Opinion

Well I got some good ride time in and the 6inch over arm has certainly changed the handling. I noticed the bike pushes really hard in the corners, so no more speeding thru the twisties, this is a good thing for me

And also the 42/16 has caused a bit of problems, I can't get the bike to stop breakin loose....oh but the fun factor is definately there!!!
anyway I attached some pics of the bike with the new arm and some pics of me goofing around tearing up the back tire...
I must say on a positive note the bike is very stable on the launch and even when goofing around the back end stays straight.

Bike is lookin' shawheat!

thx, I think I am done for now, I'll start working on the motor when I transfer back Stateside but other then a tire and a clutch kit I will just ride the thing and enjoy. Oh I was riding today and this guy on another bike (moped) was rubber necking as I turned down a side street looking at my bike and broadsided a car pulling out. I stopped to make sure he was ok and he basically just slammed on his breaks and kissed the passenger door. no harm to him, bike or car.

I am SOOOO jealous!

I've got my 6" over swing arm sitting in the garage waiting to be installed.

I really like the look... not to long, but long enough to mean business.

Is your bike lowered in the rear?
Which hole (assuming you are using the standard 3-hole dog bones) are you using?

Thanks!
Cecil

middle hole 1 1/2 inches lowered both front and rear, shock is a little soft so I have to figure out what can be done there.

I"m looking at extending my arm 4" next winter.

Tell me about the way the bike :"pushs hard in the corners"
I'm wanting to go either 4 or 6 over. but am afraid of how it will handle in turns, is it going to handle like a cruiser, "gold wing", are the twisties still fun? will it lose the whole sport bike feeling?

also has the rear wheel broke lose in a turn on you yet?

by the way the bike looks killer!!

the bike drifts to the outside pretty bad, still has a sportbike feel but I will have to get used to the turning radius, especially in the twisties. I do not recommend extending if you hit the twisties hard. Back tire breaks traction everytime I let the clutch out to hard with too much gas applied. Even second gear breaks loose on a hard acceleration. Its fun but not really a twistie bike anymore. However you can get a swing arm piece that allows you to switch from stock to 6 inches over just by swopping chains. www.tracdynamics.com

again i have to say your bike looks great, shinko has a couple of new tires out,the 005 is harder, but i dont think that tire will help you,and the ultra, stickier then the 003,(cant wait to get my hands on one of them)but to make it hook on the street i think you will have to shorten up the wheelbase, looks like you have some room to do that, and take some gear out,but that will depend upon what the priority is,hard launch or strong roll ons
