new tail

Hey all...recently I bought a newer SV650S for my wife. There were some mods done to this bike, one of which was an undertail replacement with integrated brake light and blinker. I noticed that when Lori brakes to a stop the brake light flashes...the guy at the dealership told me this was an "upgrade" and that probably all bikes will be changing to this style of brake light as "they are finding that it gets other drivers' attention better..." I haven't heard of this...what do you guys think? Does anyone actually know? Thanks all! J

I would have to say they screwed up when wiring it. Because my undertail has seperate leds but when I hooked them up to a nine volt battery they still flashed.

I have heard of this somewhere but I can't remember where. It isuppose to flash to get others attention that are behind you. The more attention the better. I hate tailgaters!

There are some owners here with SV650s that may be able to help. What kind of undertail replacement is it? There are some that allow you to program what the lights will do (LED of course). I looked and saw them made by Rumble Imports, Clear Alternatives and a host of custom looks. If someone here can't help, check and see if you find something similar.

Thanks, BS. I'm not sure what type of undertail it is. I'm not very familiar with the SV myself. I'm going to keep checking on this until I find out what the heck is up though. It might be legite. I'm not sure. Bill seemed to recall hearing of this before too. We'll see.

A guy where I live has Gixxer 1k that does the same thing as your wife's sv. He said it was supposed to do that. He's a pretty straight up kinda guy, so maybe it's legit.

I've never heard of this. Maybe that's just because I work too much, or what, but that just doesn't sound right.
