New tires - shall I acccept delivery?

Hello,

I ordered a pair of Metzeler Roadtech 01 SE for my busa.
Apart from the production date and general appearance, do you think anything else worthwhile to check?
The merchant wants the customer to write comments on the delivery note should he want to return later the tires for any quality issue.

thanks

First time I have heard of that. The SE version of those tires is relatively new so age shouldn't be much of an issue. Post up how these work out for you.
Sure, but there are worthier reviews, esp. UK, claiming "all-weather" for that country, wet yes and sport yes. Customers' reviews on the Dutch pneus-online site give highest rating for wet among road-legal tires, so it remains to be seen if I seem doing a higher mileage than with my battlax s22 ... No matter how much I like corners, road planners seem having an irresistible tendency to straight lines...

The weight and torque of the Hayabusa generally eats up tires, even the "sport touring-" ones...

My PR5 rear tire was down to the cords in less than 6000kms and I didn't ride it hard most times.....

Mine with around 7000 miles on it. Going to be due pretty soon. They stick, don't cup, warm quickly and ride as well as any I've tried, most durable tire I've tried. Believe the reviews.

You ordered them and if the manufacture date is less than two years, then yes. Everyone should shop around for tires. I’ve bought Michelins thru Amazon that came from Chapparel Motorsports. Funny thing was that they were more expensive if I’d bought them direct.

In his shoes I'd examine smoking the pipe, or simply cigars: only gear needed is an armchair and a brandy!

I must be doing something wrong, never got much more than 3,000 miles from a back tire.

Me neither, and even though I rode my Gen2(and everything else) like it was stolen...I still cannot see how some people get the mileage that they do.
I tried multiple sport and sport touring tires too, and at multiple psi's front/rear, and even if I rode the bike like a scooter, I cannot comprehend getting 6k to 8k+ miles out of any tire on it.
I'm about to buy a Goldwing too, so the whole tire wear thing with that should be interesting...Busa torque, with near double Busa weight, lol
And speaking of double...how about tire prices lately...double is about right on cost increase in the last couple years...

I've never got more than 3k on my gixxer 1100 rear. Just put Dunlop sportmax 5s on the busa. I'll be pleased with 3k. I'm expecting 2k. I have no clue how you would get 6k?
