New to Busa

Hi everyone,
i'm new to the Busa world and this is my first post in the forum.
Coming from the classic bike world (riding triumphs and harleys) , I felt in love with the Busa (first sports bike that I ever felt this way for) so Iam just wondering how difficult would be for me to get used of the busa's power and not put myself into trouble ? Do you have to go from the first moment like a rocket ?

Can Busa become a touring bike ? and feel decent comfortable while riding 600miles for a day

The busa is a perfect touring bike, we ride 2-up 95% of the time. I have done 500 miles a day with no sweat. You will be fine. She is gentle when you want her to be, and can go to OMG fast if you want her to. Welcome to the oRg! :beerchug:

Welcome! It's all a matter of controlling your right wrist. Lots of things you can do to make it a good touring bike (different seats, bars and other mods). Lots of info to be found here.

Welcom to the Busa world, wonderful piece of machinery.

I for one cannot get used to all that power to weight ratio, 1st and 2nd gear remains a challenge and even in 6th on the public roads full throttle lasts a few seconds at a time. That said, the throttle is directly proportional to my smile though.

Just careful, she is a heavy bike and if you tip her over it's $1,000 plus.

WELCOME !!

It can definitely be a GOOD touring bike, just ask Pashnit (member name), he puts more miles on his Busa in 1 ride than I do in 3 months. There are a lot of mods !

Genmar risers/heli bars, Buell pegs, Tobin seat, and Throttlemeisters. You can even make it a Bagger, if that's your thing ?

I know I forgot a lot of things you can do, there's just too many.

The busa was my first real sport bike. Jumped on this thing after only about 500 miles on a 500r. Respect it and it won't do anything to surprising. The longer wheel base (for a sport bike) and extra weight keep the power in check imo. I don't know your riding background but if you like riding bikes fast the busa is very easy to get comfortable with.

Good luck and welcome to the site!

:welcome: to the .oRg!
Get used of the busa's power, what power? Well, I guess they are a bit of a chic magnet, but you'll get used to it.
Bar riser, Buell pegs, touring windscreen and a seat ... va la, instant touring bike.

everyone always talks all that - better start with a 600, then 750, then 1000, then maybe one day a busa...i call bs on that, its all in your right wrist man. I suppose I could kinda understand that philosophy for people with absolutely no self control, but then again, if you have no self control you need to stay off sportbikes anyway. She is a beast, but only when you want. I've done 740 mi. in a day once, it really wouldn't have been bad had I not had a back pack on. If your gonna tour you might check into saddlebags, tankbags, bar risers, touring screens, etc. Backpacks are for short trips.

:welcome:

Makes a great touring bike.....just ask Tim from Pashint cuz I would not know..
The leash my wife has on me will not stretch farther than 10 miles....

Your right wrist is your friend. You will get there much quicker than you can stop.
Just take it easy for a few hundred miles.
When you feel comfy find a long open road and try it on slowly when no others are around you but again remember it is very easy to outrun your brakes !

Welcome to the .Org!! Just get comfortable with the bike before you start to push it. Gradually increase the speed as you get more comfortable with the bike. When I first got my 'Busa, I took it to about 150 and it scared me a little. My 600rr wold basically stop at 155. At that speed my 'Busa is just getting warmed up!!

Welcome to the best forum on the net...

I came from a cruiser straight to the Busa and have never looked back. If you are a mature rider and treat the beast with some respect there will never be any issues. I also bought it for touring 2-up. the wife actually prefers it to the old cruiser.

oh and since this is your first post...POST UP SOME PICS:rulez:
