New to me gen1 turbo

Just pick up a 06 Hahn turbo setup, s20g-h turbo, motor is built, trans undercut albillet clutch etc. Port fueler and msd spark controller. What’s the best upgrade on the intake plenum, it would appear to have poor fl and create turbulence. Bike was assembled by rcc years ago, said to produce 392hp on c16 at 31 lbs. thx UP

honestly.... have a leakdown and compression test done... make sure motor is healthy... then without question.... the BEST upgrade for the intake would be an RCC intercooler/plenum... http://rccturbos.com/index.php/category/turbo-system-parts/billet-ultra-plenum-detail now u don't have to rely on meth injection with this.... doers it run good with the portfueler system? if so... great.... some have had issues with it.... its just a little weird that RCC Richard working around a Hahn turbo system... but maybe he dialed in the Hahn system himself.... get with a GREAT tuner (turbo specific) and go from there...

Why would RCC assemble someone else’s kit?

31 lbs?

I know.... I know... what I meant was maybe the previous owner bought a Hahn kit... then at some point got Richard involved..... (maybe.... maybe not). and as far as 31 LBS.... my bike made 400 hp at 17 or 18 pounds of boost.... (but with a gtx40).... a mitsu 20g maybe will boost to 30lbs...... BUT.... should it make more power at that level? we need an expert before I get hate mail... and please everyone keep in mind.. believe it or not the primary reason behind responding to these things is to help people...... bear in mind.......... efficiency aside..... 1 pound of boost on a busa should equate to ROUGHLY 10 HP...... take it for what its worth... the info is out there.

The bike was built 10+ years ago, i was hoping for some input on the Hahn plenum not weather or not rcc was involved in the build.
people are trying to help u here... have the motor checked/tune checked.... so u don't hurt it......

The Hahn "log style" plenum is old school. You would be better off going with a triangular Stage One RCC plenum, better flow and distribution. The numbers suggested for a Super 20 G are low, the last one I did made 425 rwhp at 17 pounds of boost, so something is not right there. RCC might have built the motor, I seriously doubt he had anything to do with Bill Jr's kit, especially that port fueler, which you should get rid of entirely. This I can say - the Mitsubishi Super 20G is a great turbo, that kit has a lot of potential with the right upgrades . . .

Frank, Thank you for the reply, This turbo has the -h which I think is a bigger exhaust turbine than a td05. It’s encouriging to know the turbo can support higher HP.. I’ll have to look into different fuel injectors, what are people running for gen1 4 injector setups? I have Ecu editor to install, and I’d like to get rid of the rising rate fmu.

POWERHOUSE did the original R&D testing for Hahn's portfueler when it was first envisioned. Bill Jr., unfortunately decided to use a pos fuel controller that did not track correctly, the resolution sucked. It stepped up in 1,000 rpm increments and worked like crap. I told him, but he did not do anything about it, and decided to sell junk like he always does. You should get the RCC Stage Two plenum with the piggyback injectors, 1:1 regulator and LT-9 Microtech. Flash the ecu, hang a PCV powercommander on it, and get that bike tuned the right way, you won't believe the difference. I will be happy to help if you wish.

You have a TD05/TD06, it is the compressor side that is bigger, and that is why that turbo responds so well and spools quickly . . . and makes good hp per pound of boost . . .

I used the port fueler controller for 8 years
RPM reading half takes a little getting used to

I logged and tracked A/F the Whole time, and I found it was reliable and repeating A/F for years
The only problem I had was it did not read the same as my boost gauge...... but it registered EXACTLY the same as my PCV-TPI does/Did
maybe I got a good one

you have been through a lot of different setups.... and are quite fluent with multiple systems now..... what advice would u give the OP..... who bear in mind isn't a pro and doesn't wanna invest in datalogging eqauipment... and spend the rest of his life tuning it?.... what would be the simplest solution to his problem?... notice I didn't say cheapest.... just easy and simple.... and RELIABLE without datalogging constantly.
