Hi all, just wanted to peek in and introduce myself. Just picked my 2009 (new in crate) about 4 weeks ago.
I had just gotten back from a 400 mile trip on my 2004 SV1000s and couldn't get over how much you had to "get into it" to get up bigger hills, and sometimes just to go with the flow of traffic. SO, I was on the light-hearted hunt for a different bike. Not necessarily new, just different. I stopped in at a Suzuki dealer and as I was looking at a GSXR750 & 1000, the sales guy says "why not look at the Hayabusa too? It's new, and priced the same as a 2011 GSXR750.
Up to that time, I hadn't really even considered the Hayabusa as I've only been riding a couple of years, and well, the looks were a bit off-putting. BUT, I decided to take it for a test ride anyway.
I fell in love.... lol
It was hard to get back to the dealership and act all nonchalant but I did my best. I said I was heading to Mexico in two days (I was...) and I'd really have to think about it. My intention was to leave it a couple of weeks, and come back to see if they were interested in dealing a bit. I got home, talked with the bank (wife) and we both decided that I had made the best decision at the time.
Not five minutes later my phone rang. It was the sales guy wanting to run some numbers by me again. Again I said I was leaving the country in 2 days and didn't want to rush my decision, and ended the conversation. Five minutes after that, he called back, apologized, and said "..well this is as low as we can go...". I was estatic, but didn't let it come over the phone that I was. They had BEATEN the best price I had in my head without them even knowing what I was interested in. I kinds let out a sigh and said I'd be in the next day sometime to talk.
So I walked in, talked with sales again, and made the deal. Plus they gave me $3600 for my SV1000s that I had paid $3000 for the year before.
So without further adieu....
I've also bought some farkle in the past week:
