Hi Guys,
I'm new to the forum and thought I post an intro. I bought a 2006 black/grey Busa back in mid-April. I heard about this forum from a friend and fellow Busa rider and thought I'd check it out. Anyway...here it goes...
I began riding dirt when I was 8 or 9 (can't remember now) on the old KX series. Worked my way up through several of those, a 3-wheeler, and a 4-wheeler.
Got my first street bike in 1987 (it was a '87 FZ 750). My parents took that away from me after about a year; not long after one of my Dad's friends was killed in a motorcycle accident. I was out of motorcycling for a long time after that. I just lost the itch (after seeing a number of my bone-headed friends wreck their bikes) and didn't have a lot of extra cash lying around anyway.
Flash forward 17 years to 2004: I caught the bug again (from a Busa rider) while living in NorCal. I bought a held-over '03 SV1000S and proceeded to log 11,000 miles on it in 10 months almost all of it from weekend sport rides (I had caught the bug again). I ended up selling that bike before relocating to Texas. When I got settled in Texas I bought a 2006 Triumph Speed Triple and a 2006 Busa.
I'm busy enjoying both bikes although the Busa is far and away the better of the two and logs the most miles (5,200 since mid-April).
