a 40 dry shot of nitrous would help or you could do a big bore 1397 kit. also i dont think an airshifter would make up a second or not, but if you want a good one get with cycle-tek you can get one through smithabusa on this board some of the best components and customer service out there

You didn't mention if you have a power commander or not.
If you don't, only go with a 30hp shot on the nitrous.
If you go above that, you need to tune the Power Commander for it.
A dry shot is real easy to hook up, and will help your E.T. and MPH.
Don't get greedy with too big of a shot, or you'll be in the engine making repairs.
A air shifter will NOT give you a second on yout E.T., but it WILL help!

Good luck and have fun.

if i went with a power commander an an a 40 shot, how much of a differnce would i tell. im not trying to have a big kit, cause i still like to ride the bike on the highway, during the week. a friend told me i need a set of cams,on the exhaust end which is another way of getting cheap h.p. if i done all of this would that out me in the low 9

We'er in the same boat, almost to the hundereth of a second,(9.79)trying to get to the same place. You may want to look into a drop-in set of high comp.pistons, they offer a great gain with out having to spend the extra on the cylinder swap. Spend the extra on other goodies. I can't provide times because after adding the pistons, all the local strips have closed for the season.Just by seat of the pants,I can tell a huge difference though. The best way to describe it would be to say that everything that used to excite me about 1st & 2nd gear now happens in 3rd & 4th.A far as my nitrous,I haven't even fired it yet. That's just icing on the cake. Another option to consider is an electric shifter from Pingel,no extra tanks to keep track of,extra weight, psi. etc. If you haven't yet check out some of the posts from 8SECBUSA, I been watching his progess for about a month now. Lots of great replys from the rest of the members has been like a library that keeps getting better by the day,the combined years of their results, both good and bad,is something that some times a thank you just doesn't seem like enough. Good luck and keep us posted on your results.

Nitrous is the most effective, the sooner you can hit it.
It's hard to say how much it will help, but you WILL see a significant difference

I rode my bike to the track
opened the bottle and ran a 8.97 at 165.64mph
with a 50 shot

bike was running 9.3 at 153mph
on motor

progressive really helps
Get into it EARLY the sooner you can start to spray without having to lift the better

NO2 is a good way to go faster. You better be ready when it hits though. Dont try hitting a 40-60 shot in first gear though. Do all the small things first...small air box mod, gear it, and get lots of seat time. Dont forget to tune your suspension as well. Many people forget to do that. You can get a few tenths just from your suspension.

Does anyone mount their NOS bottle on the frame somewhere on the Busa, vs in the hump?

I am considering a nitrous setup as well, but never have been a NOS guy.....

Also, roughly how many passes can you get out of a bottle with a stock Busa? All i have are RS3 slip ons, PC III usb, and a BMC street filter - made 161 to the wheel.
