Ok this is my first post here, but I am member of other forums. I want to start by saying that this isn't my first Busa, it's my third. And I was an original '99 owner. This is my problem; whenever I take off in 1st gear and gun it the bike feels like it either jump out, and back in to first gear, or the clutch is slipping.

It only does it on first gear. I can hammer it in any other gear with no problems. And it's not the rear tire spinning either. Like I said before this is my third Busa, but have never had problems with any or them....Please help !!!! It's an 03 aniversary edition (Copper) with 17450 miles.

Lots of people have had problems with 2nd gear doing this!
Did you bang it in to gear like with an airshifter while the bike wasn't running/moving?
The normal cause of this type of problem is bent shift forks.
Do a quick search on this board you will see what most others have done to fix theirs!

I did a search, but coulden't find someone having the problem in first gear. It doesn't slip, or anything if u don't crack the throttle. I just don't want to take stuff appart if I don't have to.

I just have to ask... how many miles are on the bike and have the cush rubbers been changed out...

Most have had this problem with second gear and not first gear like you.
See what others have done as far a replacement parts and etc for their second gear problems.
Did you keep the chain adjusted? You might want to take a peek at the front sprocket see if there are teeth rounded off?

Check the chain adjustment, chain, sprockets, and cush rubbers before going clutch or tranny

All is good with the chain. Sprockets are good too. As far as the rubbers in the cush...wellll I dunno. But like I said it only does it first gear. The Busa has 17459 miles on it.

Mine only did it in second. Are you SURE you dont have a chain slipping? Is it always at the same RPM?

No not always at the same rpm, and it doesn't always slip.....i have all kinds of bikes..all sort of years, and have never had a problem like this one. I'm also sure it's not the chain.

Dayum Steel it doesnt sound like either of the problems mine had. I had an 02 the would slip in 2nd and had to have the tranny rebuilt ( under warranty ). Also had the " wont go over 7,000 rpm " problume and had to have the fuel pump replaced ( also under warranty ). Your bikr is still under warranty is it ?
