New Vanson Volante Suit

I should have gone with Vanson...I got a Dainese Tech 2 for even more, wasn't custom made for anyone, and the zipper failed...only recourse? It was sent back to Italy 10 weeks ago with no word (or suit) scince...

That sucks about the zipper. I don’t know if it will work with Dainese but I got Vanson to move me up to the rush list by telling then I had some track days scheduled for the middle of Feb. Before doing that thy wear telling me it would be April.

Hi Ed,

I have had a $35.00 check sitting with Vanson since September waiting on their new catalog (still not out yet). I was hoping to buy a set of custom leathers (yours are a pretty cool color scheme by the way) but I wanted to see the catalog and pick colors first.

I finally got tired of waiting and bought a set of Dainese Aero (black, grey, white) size 58 off the rack and they fit perfect (on sale $998.00). Though now I'm worried about the d*** zipper !

Hope the Vansons work out well. The Dainese leathers bought me time and maybe next year it will be a custom Vanson for me too.

I still have my Dainese suit on which 3 of the little zipper tabs (fox head?) came off. The actual zipper itself never failed though.
Now I have Vanson!!

Thanks for mentioning the colors, I picked that combo out myself. Is the 58 you got Euro size or US size? I’ve seen your pic. at LABUSAS, you have a more muscular build than me but I don’t think I would fit a Euro 58, Especially around the waist. Good luck with the Dainese.

The Dainese I bought is size 58 US (as opposed to Euro). The sizing chart at the store I bought them says 6'3" 230 lb equates to a size 58. I'm 6'1" 235 so I guess I push out at the middle and they shorten in height!

BTW: I would prefer to have gone Vanson. You clearly have a better set of leathers. I find the Dainese leather very thin (though heavy in poundage !) in comparrison to the Vanson stuff I have seen. How much does your suit weigh ?

I just got my new Vanson Volante suit. This is my first real one piece suit. I have a two piece but I ground threw that one last October wen I crashed my Busa at Louden. I’m rounder than mast guys so I can’t buy a suit off the rack. Since I had to get a custom suit I decided to bite the bullet and get the top of the line. Thy told me that this is the first custom Volante to go to some one other than a factory backed racer. The suit has some new features you won’t see on other suits. One real nice thing is the double zipper in the front, this makes it much easier to get in and out of. It also has this floating armor that stays in place as you move inside the suit. It also has this black webbing under the arms, in the crotch and behind the knees that makes it fit better without bunching up in those areas. It’s not cheep, about $1600 with shipping.
