So I'm taking it easy yesterday. My tires toast I decide doing ride behind style video's was not a good idea. So I decide to hang out on one of the better turns in the shade cause it was so freaking hot. I was grabbing some footage to use in a DVD project I'm doing and a rider makes a pass and oh my god. The rider broke his wrist and we wish him a speedy recovery.

Link no longer works

What caused the rear tire to brake loose, he looks good going in ? - GREAT FOOTAGE

Excellent footage. Young kid eh? They need to be taught some throttle control...I think he just goosed it a little too early and a much too much...

I think it was the passing of the cruiser at the exit of the turn before which put him out on the DY's and he had to swing it out to avoid a late apex on the turn. What I have not figured out is that he did in fact hit the brakes you can see the tail light on so the big question is did he tap the front? or did he tap the rear. Some have said he tapped the rear and that's y he slid but I think he slides first then the brake light comes on. ? Duno really? Was way wierd to watch but even more cool to watch it again in slo mo

This is from another post from the rider.

wow, i dont even remember using the brakes. and that wasnt the rear brake. my rear brake isnt hooked up to my brake lights. i guess i could have hit em both but i never use my rear brake. that would explain the accident though.

He looked way too far over. I think MoTrFinger is right, that pass didn't give him enough time to setup perhaps, although he wasn't too far outside.

OUCH!

I bet the pucker factor was extremly high...
It appears his sphincter is still suctioned to the seat...

I have to disagree. I think the brake light effect was just from the angle of the bike comming around the corner. If you listen to the motor, its sounds like when it starts to slide he gets off the throttle and clutches it causing it to regain traction and high siding. I think he just came in way to hot and the tires couldnt hold the angle. He said his back brake wasnt hooked up to the light and if he would have grabbed the front he would have went straight into the guard rail.

In short, he should have waited to pass the cruiser ina better spot.

He quickly forces getting around the cruiser and sets up late but and forces the angle and you can see him adjust (a little bit up and back over) to try and get the corner right.

The guy on the cruiser was probably thinking, "What an idiot. He could have waited one more turn."
