Ok, today I installed new bolt ons with my blacked out mids.
Was supposed to gloat and upload some pics but got sidetracked.
These TRS carbon cans, ok just one of them, has a rattle on deceleration! Its not loud but you can sure hear it.

Anyone ran into this?

The cans have an insert of some sort in the exit hole. The insert seems be a piece of tubing about 4" long that is held in place by a set screw and the set screw is tack welded in place. Sounds like the rattle is coming from the tube???

My friggin luck...

Guess I'll call Yosh tomorrow to see what they say but the rattle has to go...

Some pics:
Before...

After....

It got dark by the time I installed the cans and the Power Commander.

Better pics later but dang it, somebody give me some good news about this rattle!

This place rocks!

Just went out in the garage, attacked the tack welds with a small grinder, removed the baffles (and yes, the rattle came out with them) and MAN, DO THOSE CANS SOUND GOOD NOW!!!

No louder, just much, much deeper.

Hats off and thanks my bruthas!

Nice cans, looks great on your bike. Makes ya just want to sit and listen to it. I love the sound of mine. See ya at the bash, maybe we can make that loop again, without the rain and fog.

I have the same can (single sided) and the same rattle! remove the baffle, it sounds a lot better also, was told that they needed this baffle to pass some noise law, but they made it for easy removel as that was the intent of the can.... they are sweet looking

Tim, Dawn and I will be up there by Tuesday afternoon (Bash week that is), I would LOVE the opportunity to ride with you again - without the rain and sinus infection, and fogged up shield and.... oh never mind. That ride was friggin awesome man.

I am looking forward to it all!!!

(mospeed @ Feb. 22 2007,21:42) had the same problem, should have just searched my post. have video clips of the sound difference too.
Dude, I have been thru training, I did the search, even had the Mizzuz do one.

Nada....

Posted this one and BAM, it worked....

Sorry for the clouds but I was frantic!

More pics of the set up.

Sand blasted the mid-pipes that Punisher sent to my wife (Blonde on a Busa, or whatever her name is here.....)

Primed them, then painted them with VHT paint - 4 times-  allowing flash time between coats and letting the paint cure under lights. I still expect it to flake off but the local powder coater here said that the temp would be too high for that to work

Two rides later, paint is still there...

Cans, without baffles are very deep. LOVE IT!!!! -thanks again guys!!!

I know, bolt ons are sophomoric but I am old and not gonna be running the salt flats any time soon and all I have to do is out run my bud who rides a 600 to feel cool so they should do ok for now.....

Here are some pics as promised, I like the look, worked darn hard for it and paid a pretty penny too, nearly a grand for the PC (why not buy one eh?), the cans and the salve to soothe up where the wife kicked my a** for spending the money in the first place.

Next, I HAVE TO BLACK OUT MORE.
The swing arm (blackening thereof) and Sato rear sets (in black) have to happen (shhhhh, she might hear)...

Who knows, its fun.

Funny thing tho.
This morning the bike was dead, had 4 volts in the battery, 2006 Busa, 4000 miles, fresh as the driven snow and dead as fried chicken....

Not sure what happened. The Power Commander is real strait forward as far as install - I had to have done something wrong was my thinking.
Checked all connections, checked all wire routing, nothing that should have caused a prob - nothing!!!

Charged the batt back up and rode all day today.
If its dead again tomorrow more work will follow.
Did some searching and found no mention here or on the entire web that referenced a PC3 draining a battery...

Just shoot me...

(DaCol. @ Feb. 22 2007,20:05) I like your Cans and the way you cut the rear fender

Thank you sir!!!

Revlis helped me with the wisdom and technique (as far as trimming the mud flap) so the credit will have to go to him there
