hey everyone,
I installed the yoshi TRS full TI exhaust tonight and I have a question.

After the install i took her for a quick ride and noticed the idle is quite rough. is this normal and do I need to increase the idle a bit or is a PC III needed (or the marble mod). I haven't ridden it long enough to determine if I'm getting alot of backfiring or not. i did notice that exhaust is NOT that much louder, is it suppose to be or yoshi's still a bit quiet compared to others?

also it did turn off me twice but I wasn't sure if its because the bike was cold, it was cold out and I had the choke off.

any advice is helpful.

Try turning the idle up to about 11 or 1200 rpm's that should do it..

TRS should be plenty loud enough. If it isnt then you should have gone D&D or Boz or straight pipes. Pops Roos is probably right, your idle speed should be about 1150rpms at idle. If it running real rough you might want to look for exhaust leaks though. Oh and this bike doesnt have a "choke", its a fast idle. It slightly advances the throttle when you pull it back, should raise your rpms to about 2000 - 2250 ish.

From what I've read here, you'll need to remap, and do the airbox mod, with a full system. Yosh's website (FAQ's) recommends remapping (actually, they say rejetting) with a full exhaust, but not slip-ons or bolt-ons.

Is it back firing? If so the marble mod should solve that problem.

remap, pair mod and airbox should getcha what your look'n for. adj idle like mentioned above.

Justa sorta ease yer anxioty?....I went the "Loud Exhaust" route one time...a gutted muzzy meg on my old Kaw ZRX1100...oh it always made my heart thrum went i started her up but...on rides anything longer than 20 miles?...it got old quick...and was like...welcome to the land of wearing heavy, thick padded helmets and ear plugs...and i couldn't stand to wear either so i suffered..on long rides...imho?...it may be "a must" for drag bikes but...for the everyday rider?...it seems that "Loud Exhaust" is a mistake that everyone needs to make at least once...i did...but it won't happen again...unless i do head towards a dedicated drag bike.

Hope that helps and L8R, Bill.

(rockadaous @ Dec. 31 2006,11:30) 300 that's the setup i'm picking up next month.  where did you pick yours up from?
I stole that off ebay. Brand new $410 shipped to my door. That is about half price. Don't ask how I got so lucky, but shid happens. Everyone says it sounds awesome.

oh don't get me wrong.. i was worried about it being too loud but I don't think it is at all. Like you said I frequent 200mile rides and I listen to my ipod too... which I could never do with my full yoshi on my ninja 600.

so yes I'm really satisfied with the sound of it but of that weird gurgle sound.
