Hi Guys,

Thought I'd check in. Lots of great advice here I see. Been riding bikes since I was 5 yrs old. Got four in the toy shop at present. DRZ40 Motard, X1 Buell, HD Ultra Classic & of course an 05 Busa. This is my second busa. Had a 02 a few years ago & this one came up cheap from a mate. So for a while there I had 2 busa's in the garage. Can't complain about that thou. Anyway I ditched the 02 & I've had the 05 for a couple of years now. On each of them I have done a mod of fitting Pro Tapper bars. I do a few long rides each year & I really like this mod. I'm here now looking for some heads up on a 240 to 330 8" stretch. Looks like I have a bit of reading to do. I may let myself do some crazy stuff to this busa as I am pretty keen to get a new 08 when they land down here. Cheers.

Toy shop with a M109 (now sold) & a V-Rod I spent a bit on (also now sold). Got a 03 F150 HD in the garage also. Love that truck. Now time to mod this 05 busa with some help from my friends here I hope. Anyone know KROMDOM on this site? He is a pal from another site & I think he has spent some time here also.

Welcome to the oRg! How did you find us? Very nice collection of toys you have there. I have always wanted to come down and take a motorcycle tour. The tour company I have been looking at uses beemers though. Again, welcome, you should be able to find the information you need to stretch your busa.

Welcome aboard, Mate! Went to Brisbane on my way to the Gold Coast - wonderful country you have down there! Wish I could get anything as good as XXXX here or maybe even Morton Bay Bugs! Yah!

Heck of a toy box there!

welcome! nice toy collection!

So tell more about the bars and the conversion... (I see your safety stickers did not fall off)

twotonevert - Google is my friend.

whitele - XXXX is my friend (very good friend)

Mr Bogus - Bar conversion is great. Don't get me wrong, I am comfy with the stock setup but this mod takes the cake. The bike feels about 20kg lighter & the grips are about 3" higher. Like riding a bandit that goes & looks like a busa. I used the Pro Tapers that are suited to an 80cc chock chaser so they are a little narrower that the full size bars. Cut the top plate out of some Ally plate & bolted it to the stock top clamp. Had to lengthen the hydraulics about 100mm (4") each & used a dermal to shape the double bubble to clear the master cylinders. Did anyone notice the Gixxer 1000 mirrors? These sit a little higher & clear the clutch & f/brake levers a bit nicer. Pretty easy to do & reversible at any stage if required. Cheers.
