Hey guys. I had posted up some questions a little over a week ago and I finally picked her up that Monday night. Been working way too much this week but I got to take her out last night for a short ride. I also got some pictures.
I did find out that I do not have a good back brake. I am bringing it in for service anyway, so I guess I will do a brake job as well. I am having a full service and state inspection and full once over done.
I also found out that the bike is way too low for me(I am a big guy at 6' 290lbs). So I am also having the lowering links adjusted.
I have the mirrors on order as the guy who had the bike took them off and did not have them/couldn't find them.
Anyone have any other suggestions that I should be doing?
Enough babbling for now...

Here she is:
2006 with 5400 miles. Sorry for the pic quality. I will get some better shots when I get the mirrors on and I get the suspension adjusted.

The cars and the Gixxer are not mine. In case anyone was wondering. I work at a car dealership. The bike is my bosses and the cars are his babies.

I seen the front of the red cobra r and I was starting to get jealous. Nice bike though, to bad you don't own the cars too.

lol... was just about to ask... frickn nice garage though!

sweet bike bro... No mirrors... I find it hard riding without them... will you keep mirrorless?

Very nice looking ride and of course the fastest colors. The previous owner removed the mirrors and put mirror block offs on. You might want to sit on a Busa at the dealership and see what you think of the factory mirrors. You stated you were a big guy and I can tell you that in a sitting position you'll se nothing but your shoulders and in a tucked position you can forget it. Don't know NC law but you might opt for a small mirror attached to the bar ends. I run the factory mirrors and can move around or lift an arm if I need to use them. The warning stickers peel right off. The one on the tank takes some work. Have fun and be safe out there.

Also the NC guys do some great rides.

Congrats! Check out the South East Riders forum for some good local stuff.

Thanks guys. The mirrors are already on order. Not sure what the law says but I rode it last night and I cannot ride without mirrors. I am just not comfortable and like dad says I am too big to be turning around all the time.

Will do. Looking forward to meeting some of you guys.

Nice busa! I did the following mods to make my busa comfy for me.
pic 1 are my mirror extensions so I can see something other than my shoulders.
pic 2 spacers to raise and bring back the handlebars.
pic 3. Buell foot pegs to lower the peg position.

Lookin' good Greg! Nice to put a picture to the bike we've discussed. I like that color! Glad to hear you got her out for a bit last night. Guess the Sunday ride fell through huh?
Get some mirrors on her and we'll get out for a nice ride.

When you get back, give me a ring about the service and let me what your time frame is looking like.

Call you on Tuesday. Yeah no riding for me today. I really can't ride it any more. Didn't realize that the back brake was metal on metal till I was putting it away last night. Only had it out for about half an hour. Better than not riding it. Mirrors should be in the mail already and should have them on by Wednesday. I bought GSXR 1000 mirrors, I was told they have better visibility without having to use spacers.

GSXcite, nice bike. See above post about the mirrors. Gonna do the Buell foot peg mod for sure.
Haven't decided on the bar risers yet. I think I may ride it the way it is for a while and then make some more adjustments. Thanks for the pics and advice, This is why I joined.

:welcome: Very nice looking bike.

Since you are 6' tall I would suggest putting it back to stock, or getting links to raise it about an inch. The steering will be much easier and nimble. The front looks like it was left at stock height.

:beerchug:

It has adjustable Brocks link in the rear and I am going to pick it back up. It definitely does not corner like the last two Busas I rode. Good looking out though. Thanks.:beerchug:
