newbie here - need help

Hello anyone that is willing to help,

I'm placing risers on my 2007. To do so I wanted to also take off the stock windshield and replace it with a Puig Double Bubble. When taking off the windshield, I removed the two bolts on the sides but the windshield will not slide out. Do I remove the rubber inserts as well or what. I know this is really a rookie question but on my other bikes the windshield just came off. What do I need to do?

Remove the inserts. Try with your fingers, or gentle pull on them with a set of pliers

Yep! Rubber inserts have to come out as well.

Look on the inside of the inner panel. You'll see a black pushpin on each side. Push the center of it in until it clicks and remove it. The panel should now be loose and you'll be able to pull it down a bit and see the back-side of the rubber insert. Pull it from the back-side. Do the same thing on the other side and the windscreen will come out.

To put it back in, its easiest to put the screw back in the rubber insert (just one turn), lube the rubber insert (saliva works just fine), then with the allen wrench in the screw push it through.

It may sound confusing when you read this, but once you get to it you'll understand.
