Hey guys! I just got a 06 Busa that has had a lot of work done to it... stretched, lowered, exhaust, new fairings.... Just wondering if anyone has any tips on riding a bike that has been stretched short of experience and time in the saddle.... My main bike is a 2000 Katana so I'm used to the weight, but the stretch is really throwing me off and making me worry and take turns a lot slower and more careful than I usually do... and sorry if this has been asked before, but the search kept giving me an error. Posted pics of both the busa and my usual ride.

Welcome, good looking bikes.

Time and experience will be your friend in adjusting to riding a stretched bike...either that or get a stock swingarm and return it to a stock riding position so you can get into some corners. That is unless you plan on drag racing it...

My older son has a black '06 Suzuki Katana like yours...I let him ride my bike and he came back with a huge smile on his face....

Thank you, that's what I was thinking...

Just need to spend some time in an empty parking lot it seems.... lol.

And I've entertained the idea of racing it, just simply because I have the Katana as my regular ride and only take the Busa out when I want an adrenaline rush or someone was talking trash. Lol. That and the guy that I got it from couldn't tell me everything that had been done and I haven't spent a weekend tearing her apart to find out. The fairings have built in speakers and a sub, and there's a little switch on the handlebars that I don't know what it does yet...

And I bet he did! I'm thinking if mine wasn't stretched out she would handle the same and just have a lot more power behind her.

The anti-squat is probably WAY WAY off with an extended and lowered bike leading to unloading the front on corner exits.

I suspect most customized bike rider don't open the throttle upon exiting a corner for them to notice any ill effects.

LOL
cut and paste from,

"While a certain amount of squat loads the rear suspension and improves traction, too much can unload the front wheel and have you running wide on the turn exit..."

cheers

Welcome to the org... nice looking bikes u got  As far as your stretch out doesn't look too stretched but it will definitely handle a lot worse then a regular wheelbase and busas aren't the easiest thing to corner to begin with. If you wanna take it thru some twisties of suggest a stock swingarm if your just trying to go fast in a straight line and keep it somewhat of a show bike which seems to have been someone's plan with having a radio then keep the extension. But like you said your gonna have to practice to get used to it and it won't ever be a corner carver with that extension. Feel free to post a pic of that switch we've got some real knowledgeable people around here and they've figured things out thru a simple pic many times and any questions you have in sure sometime here knows the answer.

Was raining all day today so I left both of them parked, will post a picture of the aftermarket switch tomorrow.
