No more Busa...

Well guys, I traded off my beloved Busa for a 06 gsxr 1000. Decided to go for something different since I have put 24,000 miles on a Busa in the last couple years. My wife rides a 06 gsxr 600 now and the flickability of it is very fun, just needs more power. So that too leaned me towards the 1k. I figure that I will keep this for a season or two and then decide what will be next. I just hope that there will be a new design for the Busa if I go back....and if I dont the BMW 1k might be in the stable. I will keep visiting and helping out my orgsters on here....here are some pics. The white and silver is her 600....

Nice bike man.. if I wasn't so tall IO'd love to own one.. but when I sit on one I look like Sasquatch rocking a 10 speed.

Its sad to see fellow Busa riders trading off for other bikes. its still a suzuki but not a Busa. Suzuki needs to set it up NOW! i wouldnt trade my busa for the world but i do get urges to dream of a bmw s1000rr. but no i will resist. bring on the gen 3 though and you got one sold already

Nice ride, good luck with it! I get a different bike every 5 years also.... Change is good (Except coming from Obama!).

That is a nice bike man ! That is exactly the same bike as mine. And they are right, it is even better at the track. The 06 1k is supposed to be one of the quickest bikes ever made and makes a ton of mid range power.

Here is a pic of mine

And then what she looks like in track action!

Me too Scott, thats why I bought the busa. I loved the 1k but my baby fit like a glove.

Not sure how tall you guys are but I consider myself decently tall. I am 6' 2" and weight 215 lbs and I feel like I fit on the 1k pretty well. Done several 300+ mile days on it

Now you tall fellers are gonna haveT suck it up, quit whimperin about being to tall for the Mighty Gixxer 1K and give it a try. I am 6'4" and I dearly love my gixxer. I have a dear friend who's 6'6" and been on a gixxer 1K since it was introduced more than a decade ago.

The first time I threw a leg over a gixxer it felt a little funny too but before long I was in love. I like my busa but I dearly love my gixxer. I'd gladly give up my busa before parting ways with my gixxer.

Not everybody is in as good a shape as Tuf and Tiller...I can ride my Busa a lot further than my 1k.

Oh, yeah and I have wet dreams about the 2012 S1000RR too....I know, TMI

That is a real beauty Dozerman. The 06 gixxer 1K had a recall to install a frame strut up by the steering head. Make sure it's been done on your bike. If you don't know already, call your local Suzuki Dealer and they can run the serial number to confirm your bike has been updated.

I actually owned two 06 gixxer 1K's and an 05. Found them to be wonderful bikes. However, I wouldn't classify the 05-06 as the best of the bunch. I actually find the 07-08 models to be the cream of the crop. Suzuki made some really sweet upgrades to the 07-08 series with power, forks, longer swingarm, mode switch, Hydraulic clutch, etc. etc. I was so impressed with the 07-08 that I purchased an 08 before they were all sold and parked it in the corner of my garage, threw a sheet over it and it's never seen the driveway yet. Keeping it for a spare just in case

Nice Bike, owned the K3 back then, it was a perfect stable mate for the Busa and I know how much better the 05/06 models are.

Good Luck with it.

I have a 2012 BMW 1000RR on order (all options incl motorad paint) and will be selling the Busa in a few weeks. I love the Busa, but times are changing and unfortunately, the Busa isn't. I want ABS, traction control, maps, and a bunch of the other new technologies available to us as riders. I'm not going to keep an antiquated machine around just out of brand loyalty, tradition or respect for what it once was.
