Was a beautiful day to be out on two wheels. All started off well this morning at our usual fossil fuel meeting point. We gassed up eight bikes, mine the lone Busa amoung them. Bosshound on his sweet 109R, ozz on the Gixxer, as his Busa is in need of new rubber.
We headed off for brunch at Mels Diner in Jackson. Good eats as is the norm there and of course a good fun loving B.S. session that always accompanies such stops.
With bellies full and light hearts we set off for the twisties, got in a pretty good carving session before a pit stop at the river. I encountered a bit of bad luck on the river access road.
Picked up another nail in my new back tire again. I parked next to a couple of Beemers and heard the tell tale hiss of air escaping from my Qualifier. Said nail put not one but, two holes in my rear. A quick double plug job by ozz sealed them both. The loan of a Cycle Pump from the Beemer couple Ed and Deena had the Qualifer back up to pressure in no time. Yeah Pashint, I know you sell them and my order is headed your way. What a slick little gem that pump is.
Undeterred by this mishap we spanked the twisties hard the rest of the way. Around Lake Pardee and Stoney Creek Rd back to Jackson. The trip home was marred by one of our brothers going down on the way. Took alittle too long for the crusier contingent to show up at the the other end. A U turn was made for a welfare check to find a Harley down. He was in the care of Bosshound who had the situation well in control.
Unfortunately the bike fared better than the rider. Minor damage to the left side, fender etc. The heavy leather saddle bag saved the bike and possibly its rider from sustainining greater injury. He battered his left knee and right elbow. A good sameritain called you know who and they were soon on the scene. The ambulance ride was declined and Bosshound's ticket writing CHP officer took the report. I was impressed that after only two tickets the CHP and Boss were on a first name basis.
Ozz headed home for his truck and the Harley was easily loaded into the back. It took considerable effort to package the pilot into the cab. I suspect the knee has damage that could keep him off his feet for sometime. We all praying he makes a speedy recovery and is back on the road with us soon. lease:

No Sir, wasn't speeding this time! Yes, I remember you too. Yes, I know I was the last two times we met, but not this time.
