Not so new to hayabusa but sorta new to ownership of them.

Hi, I first rode my friend's in 07 it was an 01 1397 build. It was fun. That set in my love for these bikes in stone. Fast forward to a little over a year ago. During the Texas Lonestar Rally here in Galveston TX I came across a deal to trade my Victory Vegas 8 Ball for an 05 Hayabusa. The Hayabusa was a raging POS when I got it and I knew it, but I didn't care. I got this purple POS dubbed Purple Nurple by my friends and started fixing it immediately. I couldn't afford to do all the repairs at once, so I did what I thought was the most important at first and got rid of the horrendous purple on the bike (it was everywhere). I had the bright idea to get rid of the rear brakes (roll racing reasons, stupid stupid stupid). Well me and a GSXR1000 were playing in Mexico and we were done with our little race, I got him by a few bikes. And I got on the brakes, the master cylinder failed internally and I had no brakes at 140mph and shut the motor off and leaned back and started engine braking. Coming up on a line of cars very quickly I split in between 2 cars and I looked to my right to see how close I was to the vehicle to the right of me and all I saw was concrete. Next thing I know I'm in the ER. I had 1 leaky fork I was waiting on seals and oil to come in that I already ordered. The bike low sided when the front tire bounced on a lane divider road tit. 6 surgeries later on my hands and tons of rash I was as good as I could get. Had to change careers but that's another story. Needless to say my bike was repairable after sliding for 3000ish ft on the right side. So after I repaired myself, I repaired the bike and enjoyed it like it should be enjoyed.

Later on my friend called me up and said "I have a deal for you" he wanted to trade a project 06 Hayabusa for a bolt in roll cage for his Mini Cooper. I said to send me a link and got it ordered. I started restoring this bike to start a nasty turbo build. Then a MFer decided to cut me off and I wound up T boning a Nissan Titan at 45 mph. I got out lucky with a strained right shoulder and bruised ribs. My 05 Hayabusa didn't fair so well. The frame broke and bent, and the engine case broke too.

Sooo I ordered a 1999 clean title never wrecked frame to replace the 05 wrecked twice frame. Turns out I got one of the 1st produced hayabusas #31 to be exact. So my 06 turbo build turned into my 05 replacement and my new to me 99 will be the halo dream bike turbo build. I got the 06 frame from powder coating a few weeks after the T boned wreck and also ordered an engine case to replace the broken one. And I built the blue hayabusa im riding currently. Now I'm looking to build a full retard stroker motor out of the extra gen 1 motor I have for the blue 06, and the 99 will get a gen 2 or gen 3 motor in the turbo build.

Pics in order below

Welcome. Where are you? Fill in your profile. Are you sure you were meant to ride? Your bike slid 3,000’ (over a half mile)? When did buying some protective gear dawn on you? Maybe you’re meant to build and rebuild motorcycles but not to ride them. Jus sayin…..

Im going to keep this nice. I had some gear. Here is my shoei x-fifteen i was wearing. Yes the bike slid that far according to the tow truck driver that picked it up. Going down at around 130mph and it sliding unincumbered, yeah i can see it. If i wasnt going to ride again, then i wouldnt of. You knowing nothing about me and already judging me saying ...

"Maybe you’re meant to build and rebuild motorcycles but not to ride them. Jus sayin….."

... is kind of rude don't you think. I'm keeping it nice for the forum and not saying what I really want to say.

Say what you want to say, I won’t mind. I meant no harm or insult. You’re the one who crashed two bikes in what time frame? You’re the one who removed the rear brake and then raced someone well into triple digits. And it had been 18 years since you rode a Busa? And ‘gear’ is more than a helmet. Sorry about your injuries. I had a low side 25 years ago and had knee surgeries and a skin graft. All because I didn’t have any knee protection other than leather. I was really shy in right handers for over a year. Good luck with your new build.
