OEM Tread depth

I'm prepping my bike for a track day and I need to know what the OEM tread depth is for new tires. I currently have 3.34mm front (center and sides) and 3.42mm rear (center and sides). My local shop won't be open until Tuesday and I need to remove my wheels before tomorrow if I need the tires changed. The tech inspection said they will estimate 75% total tread depth. I've search google and the org with no luck.

Thanks.

brand new BT021 is .245" (6.22MM) (have a set sitting here)
front is .150" (3.80MM)

Who are you doing your track day with???

Maybe they have a forum and you can check there???

It's with 2-Fast.org in Washington. They just state 75% of new. They don't list any other minimum tread depth. I have 2.8mm to the wear bars, so I may be at 60-70% on these tires. The tread is evenly worn across both tires.

I've been to lots of 2_Fast track days and I've never seen anyone measure tread. They will have a peek at the rubber and if it's in good shape no one will complain. If it's down to the wear bars, I don't think you'll have any trouble. You may want to take a set of tires with you just in case? There will be Michelin, Pirelli and Dunlop tires available at the track if you get in a pinch. If you bring your own tires either of the vendors will mount them for you for a minimal fee. If you buy tires either vendor will mount them free of charge.

Which track day are you attending? They have both Wednesday and Thursday on the calendar. Are you riding your busa?

Thanks everyone.

Tufbusa: I'll be there Wed. the 11th.  I will be trailering the Busa down so I can prep it before I leave.  I will be ariving there about 6:30 AM.  Tech starts at 7.  I have a set of Avon Viper Sports if they need to be changed.  The tire tread looks quite good on the BT's.  As I stated earlier, the tread is worn very evenly across the whole tire.  I like corners.

I'm assuming you have the stock BTO15's on your bus? You'll like those tires. I thrashed the 15's a couple of times on the track and they work impressively well. I ran 30-30 for air pressure and the stones gripped like bubble gum.

I don't think we will be there on Wednesday as it looks like it could be wet but we will be there on Thursday and Friday.

Have fun! We'll be looking for a report after the fun!

I do have the BT015's.  I'll have to remember to drop the pressure down before I track it.  I take it that was the cold pressure?
