Off boost fueling

My bike is a 2000 model with the 16 bit ecu. I want to be able to adjust my fueling while not on boost. Basically just want to get rid of any lean conditions from the stock ecu between 2300 and 4000 rpm. I get quite a bit of backfiring. Its not a big deal but thought I'd ask about your thoughts.

BTW the bike is a 1363 and its running a MS secondaries. Its spot on while on boost. I was thinking of going with a fi2000 because its a little cheaper than the PC. I would just have my ecu flashed but as stated its the 16bit ecu so as I understand it that is not possible.

Any thoughts. Thanks.

No, the fueling is controlled via secondary injectors while on boost as stated in original post. No need for fmu. Besides fuel pressure wont control or adjust afr when not on boost even if I did have an fmu.

sorry didnt see the line about the secondaries, but you can tune your afr with an fmu

Not with any reliability or accuracy. I that were true the bike would come with one and 500hp turbo bikes would be using them. Thanks for the help. :poke:

Base fuel pressure can help some but with the pc you will iron out the rough spots fairly easily, not familiar with the FI2000 , if it can match or better the pc it will be fine.

Talk to smithabusa....if his programmer can do what the teka/yosh box could...you could use to to enrichen the low end and then sell it off. Never know...he mine let you borrow one.

When you say 16 bit,...........I assume that you are using a stand-alone ECU and not the Suzuki ECU. Curious? What's the bit rate on the factory ECUs?

No, 99-01 ecus use a 16 bit ecu, 02-07 used an upgraded 32 bit ecu.

would a megasquirt help? possobily try them?

I'm running Megasquirt secondaries now. It's only activated under boost. There are some guys I know that are in the process of converting the Megasquirt into a full standalone for the bike but its not quite done yet.

I've decided to ditch my 00' ecu and rotor to go with a 02-07 ecu and give it the Smithbusa treatment. With the ecu editor software I'll be able to adjust everything including timing. Just sourcing a rotor and ecu now.

Call Daniel (GoldenChild) at Cloud 9. You won't be disappointed.........

talk to pinky at turbobikes he knows his stuff
he already has the MS on his bike (using it as a secondary system)
he has the older 99-00 ecu which is very finicky with controlling the fueling

he is making a great choice going to the new ecu (ive had both ecu's and was more impressed with the newer ecu's with the off boost fueling)

and there you have it.

i converted my 00 turbo bike to 02-07 (takes a few minutes to convert it), and using ECU Editor to control off boost fueling.
