The picture should say plenty. This is the result doing power wheelies with a aluminum sprocket. I had to get the supersprox kit. 530 chain +3 in the rear. kept the stock 17 in the front. LOVE it.
I'd say you've got something else going on with your bike to have done that to a sprocket.
Power wheelies, hammering it or drag racing still should not do that?
How many miles were on it?
I've got a SuperSprox on mine and like it very well.
It has a super noticeable acceleration. My old chain was kind crappy so it helped tear up the alum sprocket. Supersprox is the way to go IMO. It was really easy to install, i feel the difference.
We can now get them in black, red, blue - these are custom made & $30 more, but you can get them. They make them at time of order at takes a bit longer for custom colors.
