Hello all, i have been searching on info regarding how close the header pipe is to the oil filter with the alien head exhaust but can't seem to find what i'm looking for so hopefully you can enlighten me,i currently have HMF duel full exhaust and have to loosen the header every time i do a oil change because the header is too close to the filter.I am thinking on getting the alien head from brock,s but do not want the same problem, can anybody tell me that has this exhaust if i will still have this problem?.I called brock's and the guy i was talking to said i don't think you will have this problem. To me saying" i don't think" means i don't know. Thanks in advance for your info.

Can't answer your question but I have the same problem with my Tsukigi Sidewinder. Does anyone know of a cheaper version of the Exotic Cyle oil filter relocator that Schnitz sells?

I just put my Alien Head on last week. You've got more room than stock to get the oil filter out. No problem removing it with the exhaust ON and no tweaking required... :beerchug:

I think the stock oil line is in the way of that oil filter relocator.
It will require a new rerouted line or take the oil cooler off.
I checked it for mine and that was the case.

With my Yosh SS header I couldn't get the filter socket & a ratchet in between the filter and the header. I had to modify the filter socket and welded a 9/16 sized bolt inside the 3/8 ratchet socket. Now I just put the socket on and grab a gear wrench and viola, dun.

That should be the same for the short meg. 1800 miles before I will know.

Guys,

Because all of our exhaust systems use oversize tubing to extract maximum performance, especially when utilizing the ram air effect, the exhaust systems are typically VERY close to the oil filter. The good news is….we design our systems to be “rocked” forward to gain oil filter clearance simply by removing the rear mounting bolt, but most allow filter removal without even having to do this.

We also sell an oil filter relocation kit and any of our exhaust system owners receive their StreetSmart discount. This is a bolt on item which requires no additional lines etc. as long as it is positioned on the right (clutch) side of the engine.

I hope this answers your questions.

Thanks Brock for the information,i don't have a problem with doing this to get the oil filter off.The problem i was hoping to avoid is loosening the header pipe from the engine flange which is more of a pain to me then it's worth,so i'm happy i will not have to do this.
