for those that live in places where you put the bike up for 4 months or so, do u change the oil before or after winter?
I hate you... this is y i am gla di live in az, year around riding
i am with you there buddy, hahabefore and after, thats getting alittle expensive?
just use a cheap store brand oil for the "before" change...since you'll never run the bike with it in there........you are just doing it to keep the oxidation away.i am with you there buddy, hahabefore and after, thats getting alittle expensive?
dude, those roads in MI suck Arse. potholes EVERYWHERE... i dont c how yall can go above 30mphI hate you... this is y i am gla di live in az, year around riding
I think Michigan sucks personally. Tomany crazy drivers that wanta kill bikes and the horable roads don't help
Short trips on any vehicle is hell on the engine, battery and exhaust system no matter what the ambient temperature. Idling is worse yet. If you don't want to put it in official storage you need to take it out once or twice a month and put some miles on it.it is in a heated garage, about 55 or more. any difference?
So are you saying acids don't form therefore there's nothing to eat away at bearing surfaces or the coating on stator windings?never do it before dont see a need oil is not a sponge it doesnt soak up anything besides think about it the only thing staying wet is the bottem end so why it dont make sense kind of like wiping before you poop
the "point" is that you wash the surfaces with the fresh oil...and the acidic stuff that does sit in oil doesn't have time to cause any problems.no ididnt say that but what does new or old oil have to do with itwhat about cam surfaces in the top end that are essentially dry all winter?? it just dont make sense
