I've got about 430 miles on the Busa, about 10 to 12 of us are going for a 200 mile ride, should I go ahead and change the oil or wait till I get back, I have been riding the new ride a lil hard???
well you could definately get away with changing it after, if you are confident break-in is going well. If, however, it is not going well, and you change it now, you may notice shavings and either fix the problem before going riding, or avoid a break-down while on the trip.
The engines are test run at the factory and the factory break in process is a bunch of BS. It only allows a new rider to get used to the power of a new bike and it's the PC thing to do.
None at all. Many change their 'OE' oil early on. I don't find it at all necessary though. These are opinions of course. If you don't have your own opinion, there's nothing wrong with following the manufacturer's recommended changing intervals. Fudging on a few miles is also acceptable so you're not required to have exactly 600 miles on it for the first recommended change.
