OIL & FILTER RECOMMENDATION

Everyone will tell you something different, and people have very strong opinions about what they like, and why they like it.
That being said, I like the K&N oil filter because it's built very well, and has a 17mm nut on the end, which makes it a piece of cake to put on and get off. Suzuki OEM is also a fine filter.
As far as oil, I'm using Spectro dino 10w-40 until I feel it's broken in, probably around 2K. Then I'll switch to full synthetic (Mobil 1, Motul, Castrol etc) I haven't decided yet.
Remember, it's almost impossible to find a poor quality oil these days. Pour in what makes you feel good, and enjoy the ride!

So far so good. I've been changing oil and filter quite a bit during break in: 25 miles, 500 miles, 1500 miles and next change will be 3,000 miles. I figure it's cheap insurance to keep fresh dino in there especially while she's new.
