oil in rear shock

hi all quick question as these shocks dont have a re-gas valve to gas them???

is it a case of remove the upper valve pour old oil out and fill to top with new and re-fit valve?

ive had shocks serviced before as i cant gas them but as no valve it must just be oil change.

any one know if i can do this ? or rather is it ok as done it with my 12r shock and a couple of other's but would like to know your thoughts as shock is 7yr old and oil will be cooked
