Hi
i want to add an oil pressure gauge (buddy builds me an electronic multigauge)

Now i need an oil-pressure sensor .
Which is a good one , and were is the best bung to place it.
I dont want to substitute the original ,but add another one

electronics will be designed to the output signal ,so this doesnt matter.

Thanks for hints

For GENI

on the right side of the engine at the end of the lower galley there's a plug. You could get an adapter to replace that plug and add your pressure sensor. This way the sensor is reading close to the same pressures as the OE idiot light.

Another option is if you've removed the oil cooler you could use the out to the cooler port to mount the sensor. Again, an adapter would be needed.

You could also T off from the port that the OE sensor is located and mount it there.

Note that some of the sensors are sensitive to engine vibs and could become faulty within a year. To prevent/resolve this it's best to remote mount the sensor. Instead of mounting the sensor right to a port on the engine you can add a short line to the engine port and mount the sensor on the other end of the line.

I don't have pictures on this laptop or I could show you a few different ways to mount the sensor.

thanks
i will pick one of these options.
Do you know if the original gives "rising signals" or only the red light if its to low.
then i could T it and use a second original.

OE sensor is just a simple on/off no rise to it at all. It even trips at inconsistant pressure. Not enough to alram anyone but 2-3 psi variance.
