Oil Prices Have Gone Insane

I'm up at the stealership buying a few things and I notice they are finally starting to carry Amsoil. At one point there were only a few shop that carried it. I figure cool , I'll pick up 4 quarts now for when I change my oil in the future. I look at the price and stop short....$13.99 a quart It has risen $6.00 a quart since I last changed my oil and that hasn't been that long ago either. Maybe 3 months at the most. Next time I find a deal I'm buying it by the case.

That's almost $70.00 for an do it yourself oil change if you buy a new filter. That is if the oil filters are still $13.00.

Gettin' you there too. I use HiFlo filters at $5.00 a pop. The're also an O-ring filter which I prefere over the flat gasket versions.

Full synthetic is man made and shouldn't go up in price, like "dino" oil when the price of crude goes up. That price is crazy> I hope you didn't pay that!

No I didn't. I'll wait until tuesday and get it from where I usually get my Amsoil. I just hope they haven't gon up that mush or I'll be using Mobil 1 until the insanity passes. They had Castrol full syn 5-30 for like 12.99 a gallon but the salesman told me it was garbage. Anyone ever use this?

I used Castrol Actevo in my last 4 stroke dirt bike (Yami WR250F), worked fine but I changed it every 3 rides, dunno how it'd work in a Busa. 5-30 would be a little thin for a Busa motor anyway I'd think.

When you start geting into "FULL" synthetic oil's, your splitn hairs on "is one better than the other"......... There ALL GOOD....IMO

The same Stealership had an orange/Black 08 on the showroom floor. I asked how much OTD. $11,800 he says. I look the bike over and there is a big azz dent in the right side exhaust can. I say what about this big azz dent? He say, We know thats the first thing you'll get rid of anyway.

Yes, oil prices have gone crazy. I bought a gallon of Rotella T synthetic 5w-40 at Walmart yesterday for $20.00 and three weeks ago it was $16.67.

I just paid $121.00 for 2 Gallons of 15w50 Silkolene Full Synthetic & 2 Hi Flow Oil filters, I Still don't think that was to bad considering what I bought.
