ok thanks again -joe-

You talking about the packing? If so most exhaust company's sell that stuff.

You can buy packing material just about anywhere, but I don't think you can repack the stock cans without a serious hack & butcher job.

You sure its the packing? I've had problems with pack rats in my garage taking up residence in my bike. Once they made a nest in the exhaust. When I started it scraps of cloth and paper went everywhere. Another time I found some wires chewed up. Now I keep rat poison in the bike and all over the shop, haven't had any problems since.

Are the exhaust canisters stock? I was under the impression that they do not have any
"packing" per se. The inside is nothing but a three chambered design connected by tubes for wave cancellation.

What kind of exhaust is on there now? I have a feeling that someone may have had the cans stored in shredded paper and remounted them without really cleaning them out.

they are the stock cans and i am the only owner of the bike so noone has stored anything in them and i looks like cotton fibers .... when i first saw the stuff coming out i thought it was cobwebs from sitting for so long but its definatly not so right about now i am stuck with no clue what to do.... what do u think the problem would be if i just let is all come out and rode with nothing in there (performance or fuel issues)?

Just a couple of bolt to remove the canister. When I got my bike I drilled the stock exhaust canisters. No packing inside there. All metal, hence their weight. You might of had something living in there while bike has been sitting.
