I bought some stabil for the fuel for storing the scooter for the winter last year. Does this stuff expire, or will I be fine using the same bottle this year?
dunno.gif

I used the same bottle for 3 years with the chainsaw, weedeater, lawnmower etc. They still run, but I don't really know the answer to your question.

Well if Rick doesnt know, I guess it isnt that stupid of a question! LOL

Ok..... here you go! I guess I was lucky the last year. I'll have to compare the color with a new bottle.

Storage/Shelf Life of STA-BIL®
STA-BIL® will stabilize fresh fuel and protect an engine?s fuel system up to 15 months when used as directed. For best results, treat fresh fuel promptly when purchased. The STA-BIL® can or bottle itself has a shelf life of 2 years. STA-BIL® that is discolored and has turned dark brown is an indication that it is time to replace your old STA-BIL® with a new bottle or can in order to insure best results.

What is the shelf life of STA-BIL Fuel Stabilizer?
2 years after the bottle has been opened, provided it has been tightly capped and stored in a cool, dry place.

I use sea-foam its a little more expensive than sta-bil,couple years back i put in some older sta-bil in my bike when i got done putting it in the tank i see chunks in the sta-bil bottle,so i had to take off the gas tank and clean the fuel pump and dump the gas. i would watch putting in older sta-bil.

move south and ride year round... problem solved! j/k, I just get a new bottle every year for the mowers, saw gas, and mix a 2 gal can for spare stock , so if i use a treated equip, I can just refill and be good to go.
