how long of a ride is it around the lake?is it all one road or do you have to switch roads-?

It's a long ride, especially if you rode there all the way from Lakeland like we did, yes you switch roads.

Get with , he knows the route well.

It's approximately 125 miles around the big lake. From 12 o'clock (Okeechobee) and traveling clockwise, you take US 441/98 south to US 27 at South Bay. Go west on 27 along the southern side of the lake till just past Moore Haven, then you turn north on SR 78. SR 78 will take you back to the starting point in Okeechobee. There are numerous scenic spots to pull over and snap pics, get fuel, take a break and have a catfish lunch, or view the miles of wonderful sugar cane. Be careful for the occasional constable, but there are some spots to let 'er rip though.
