Old Vs. New

Long time lurker ( since 1999 ). Got my new 08 two weeks ago, and the nice thing was that I rode my 05 up 117 miles and came back on the 08.

I had the notion that the new bike was the same as the old bike, boy was I wrong.
Im still trying to figure out the dash panel Fuel reset, clock adjust, ect. once I got home, I had them side by side to count the diffrences, and I thing Im up to twenty at last count. the major things would be
1. More power!
2. the tail
3. the dash
the list goes on. the minors would be
1.I actually feel when the timing retarding comes in and out.
2.Shifts better
3. Slipper clutch takes getting used to.
3. Grips are more comfortable without the ridge of rubber between bar end and throttle grip.

How much is the power difference noticeable? Is it from the very first gear or it is just noticeable once you are past 150 ish?

Around 5k its spunky-er as for option A,B,C. From A To C, it seems like a 1/4 inch of throttle to make up the diffrence .

slipper clutch is the best thing ever!! If you're into trackdays or roadracing. No rear chatter on corner entry, you don't have to blip as much downshifting thru the gearbox, helps a bit with late braking, etc.

I can't wait to try an 08 someday. I'll just live vicariously thru you guys.

Other than the tail, looks great!  I guess you enjoy the grey color. Congrats!

I know the 07 and below busas at the guage clusters they have a MPG meeter, does the 08 have it. Maybe I sould read the manual.

Seeing both together, I am beginning to like the look of the '08 tail.  Congrats, and thanks for the update!
