Once again... Thanx Motorhead.

I was about to yank out my new EBC HH pads because they were dragging too much. Your tip about fully compressing all the brake pistons to erase the "memory" (your term) was right on the number. I suspect that the seals were pushed down and were holding the brake piston against the pads and rubbing the rotor more than necessary.

Very good. Thanx man.

This is what a proper forum is all about.

LYLE OR MH I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW ABOUT THIS. I TOO HAVE THE EBC HH AND I TOO HAVE THE HEAVY DRAG. I CAN NOT FIND THE POST Y0U ARE SPEAKING OF. THANKS FOR ANY HELP. ERIC

To elaborate ... Yank out the pads and depress all six pistons flush or slightly below the surface of the caliper. Do this slowly and gently. Be careful not to push brake fluid out of the reservoir. Reinstall the pads. Do both sides. Then pump the brakes until the lever travels it's normal arc.

Test the brakes gently the first couple of times. If putting new pads in do 30 stops from 40 mph letting the rotor cool for a moment in between. Do this to break-in the pads.

You will find that the dragging and noise is considerably reduced. The pads will still make noise but not as much.

Motorhead gave me the idea buried in another thread.
