one piece vs. two piece

I'm getting a new suit, not sure on the brand yet, but I noticed there are one piece and two piece. Whats the pros and cons on each? Also, whats a suit that is good bang for the buck? I know everyone is different but at least if I ask this im not going in totally blind folded. thanks

I can not fit in a one piece. If i get the bottom to fit, the top is too small. Same goes for suits sold as a two piece. I have to buy separates and have a full zipper sewn into the jacket.

For Drag and track i recommend 1 piece, cause it offers more protection in certain ways. For touring 2 piece is good enough.

i do more touring i guess....when i go to my hometown from where im living at now, its a 500 mile round trip in two days so i want to be protected

With a two piece you can take off the jacket and relax without having it hanging around your waist. Both provide great protection.

2 piece for me. I like the look of the one but for touring and street rides 2 is the way to go.

I like my Joe Rocket stuff, comfy, well made and decent price.

Oh and when I walked into starbucks the other day, the cute girl at the counter says " I like your outfit... You look like Batman"

same here. And as pointed out by TruWrecks

P.S. I am also able to mix-and-match the pants with my other jackets (thanks to the zipper connector)

I have both and for me the one piece is best for the track and hard street riding. 2 piece for casual and long distances. I have an alpinestars rc1 1 piece. I love the fit and the comfort. No break in needed. Leather is soft but durable. To me it is well worth the grand it cost. Its also perforated so it breathes well. For the 2 piece its a mix match. I have several jackets. 2 AVG and 1 alpinestars. The agv jackets are the busa replicas. They are ok. Good for cooler weather. both are leather. THe alpinestars is the best of the jackets. It is the mx airflow, i think its called. About $700 or so. Clearly this jacket is the best jacket for me for riding day to day. It breathes so well that its almost too cool under 70 degrees. My favorite by far. The only track pants I have is a set of joe rocket perforated blaster 2.0 .. The leather is good. fit is decent although as i recall they ran a bit big. Not the highest quality. Around $250 I think. But for the money it was good. I wanted to get a pair of track pants from alpinestars but they are more like $400. So for the money the joe rocket pants are well worth the money. As you can tell I am partial to Alpinestars but I was looking at the gericke celtic one piece. They sell them at sportbiketrackgear.com . They have a video and it seems to be a very good suit for the money. Around the $600 range. Dont forget good gloves and boots.

Yeah i saw that the joe rocket two piece is pretty reasonable priced and ive read pretty good reviews on it, the sidi boots are pretty good too right? I've been looking at the sidi B2 gore tex boots, they seem pretty nice and reasonable priced. does anyone have these? Also what would be a good set of gloves? thanks for all the input

what do you guys think of the knox gloves?

Which ones? I believe they came out with 4 new gloves this year. If your talking about the top notch gloves with the skeletal outside, they look pretty cool and im sure they would protect your hand well. Just not sure If i'd need that much protection for casual riding. If you like them and dont mind the price tag, i'd say go for it.

http://www.sportbiketrackgear.com gives some reviews on the gloves. Should check it out.

Yeah, well i cant afford a 2000 dollar suit, but ive read a lot of reviews about joe rockets suit and it seemed pretty good bang for the buck. Well when I ride, i ride 4.5 hours one way so i might as well get the better gloves, but im just trying to figure out which sidi boots would be the most comfortable/best deal

Someone had B2's on clearance recently, a member posted it here but I can't recall who. Do a quick search....they were something like $150 - way cheap! They're very comfortable boots!

Also check out Held gloves - very nice and reasonably priced with great protection features.

You will be much happier with a 2-piece. Although the suit will crash better in most cases, a 2-Piece is much more comfy and much easier to find a suit that fits.

Suggestions:
Be sure to get pants with pockets. Trust me, you'll be glad you did.
Extremely important to have a snug fit. A loose fitting suit will give you rug burns all over in the event of a crash.
The more pockets in the jacket, inside and out, the better. You will always be looking for places to put things.
Full zipper around the waist is a must.

two piece is great for track days and maxton when hot weather is around--keeps you from passing out in the heat when just waiting to get on track---
