So, I'm in the middle of a presentation today when the power goes out, we look out the window to catch an amazing display of natures fury. Trees were bending to the ground, lightning and thunder all about.

Wind gusts made it up to 90 miles per hour(I found this out later by checking up local weather readings) and the hail was so thick you couldn't see 2 feet out the window. I swear our windows almost shattered.

About 15 minutes later everything was calm, and in the distance I could see my bike laying on it's side about 4-5 feet from where I left it.

I think I dropped the fbomb at least 6 times on my way out of that meeting. On the way out, trees were uprooted, and pieces of our building were everywhere.

I got to my bike, sat her up and inspected the damage. It's not too bad actually. The mirror bent in as designed, but didn't even scratch, and my plastics have swirl marks on em. the tail pipe has some scratches on the logo "which I think I can remove and replace" and the bar end needs some love.

She started right up, but kind a lunges forward when starting (someone suggested that because it's a hydraulic clutch it may just have an air bubble in the line due to it being on it's side.)

This may be my opportunity to get a new paint job, seeming I never replaced my plastics from the last time she was down.

My coworker came back from lunch and found my helmet down the road, it has some big gouges in it, but otherwise it's intact.

Tell you what though, my bike has a curse, I'll never ride it again on July 31-August 1st. That's just too spooky.

Check your insurance, that would definately fall under comprehensive! They can't drive your rates up with a claim like that...
Sorry to hear that she fell over, but maybe some good will come out of it...

you need something.

That sux, but I definitely understand your pain. A similar "microburst" went through Provo in the mid-1990's when I was going to school there. I came out of class to find trees uprooted everywhere and another bike laying on top of my beloved V-max in the motorcycle parking area. Broken levers and scratched cans, but nothing too serious. (I was a squid back then and didn't have a helmet to get scratched up

That really sucks! Sorry to hear about your bad luck.
