A little while back I bought this Suzuki rear Bike stand, Only used it a couple times and loved it.

After stretching Misty 6 1/2" I was unable to use the stand because the stand hit the extension long before the cradles met up with the spools. Started checking into different stands that would work, Then I walked out in the garage and decided it was going up on the stand, Figured all I had to do was raise the rearend up high enough for the stand to slide under, and ended up making a permanant solution. Didnt cost me a thing.

Roll the bike up on the ramp, Have a couple blocks same height for the kickstand and wallah.

Figured maybe someone else might run into this problem some day and heres away around buying a new stand.

sure glad I am happy with my "arm" as it is... plenty long for what I need it for..

I ended up making a front stand myself. Looks pretty good for my first one. If I had a digital camera I would post a pic. I got the metal from work. It took me about two hours to get it the way I wanted. works pretty dam good to.

Not that you need to. But I wonder if it would work if you cut the cross memeber off of the stand.

It was actually the side arms hitting the extensions before the cradles had a chance to meet up with the spools, But thans for the idea.

I had the same problem with my 1000. I actually wheeled the stand up to the back of the bike making sure I was as close as I could get and lifted the bike rolling back just a bit and fighting to get both spools on at the same time. I would have eventually figured something different out but I only had the bike after finishing all the upgrades for about a month.
