OXYGEN SENSOR REMOVAL

Hello Busa PPl
I'm relatively new to the Busa scene and have recently purchased a full yoshi tri oval system for the beast (02 model).

I have already fitted a PC, but what I want to know is what do I do about the oxygen sensor that goes into the standard exhaust or will a suitrable map from the pC website sort it out?

Isd it really worth doing the PAIr mod and if so do I need blanking plates etc and what benefits does it do?

Any help greatly appreciated

Cheers[/i]

It is worth doing the Pair valve removal. It will cause backfiring in full systems. You'll need the block off plates and a big and small air line caps.

Other benefits, though they're small benefits.
1)more air into engine you probably won't notice a difference
2)less weight(ounces) you probably won't notice a difference

The Busa doesn't use a O2 sensor

I "think" he's talking about the pair valve... but I'm not positive about that.

Yes he does have an O2 sensor! Its a European model,They come with it. Dude, what you do is go to Dynojet.com.uk, there are directions for the O2 disable and the wire disconnect to keep the f1 light from coming on, shoot me a pm if you have any more questions. NJ.I had to do this as well with my HMF install.

Will it make any sense to disable the o2 sensor if your not using a full exhaust system

Thanks everybody and yes the Euro model does have oxy sensor on the 02 model.

Anyway just had a route on the power commander website and found instructions for removal of sensor.

But thanks all the same

Ps Were can i get these balnks from for the PAIR?

I'd like to caution you guys on something. I'm a car dealership service manager and back when computer controlled engines first came out, there was that group of owners who couldn't leave their hands off and our shop was filled with cars with "Check Engine" lights on and driveability issues out the arse. If you're primarily going to ride your Busa on the street, you owe it to yourself to leave well enough alone and not try to outwit the engineers who designed the bike and wrote the computer software for it.

Today's fours and sixes don't run better than yesterday's eights and do it on less fuel by accident, you know...

Ed,I wouldnt have done it without thorough research on the subject, everybody says the 02 sensor only works when driving at a constant speed and the difference is miniskule at best.European emissions laws are much more stringent than in the U.S.The bike is already lean with the map, the 02 will only lean it more or so I've been told by dynojet.
