Mind out of the gutter now.....I wrenched for hour's yesterday... changed fork oil.... took my 05 KTM 300EXC out today... lot's of bobbles and a million rocks..no fall down is good. 73 miles is a biggy on dirt and by myself..had phone and GPS in case somthing happend.. feels like a 500 plus miler..on the street. Here where i live we are very fortunate to have almost unlimited trails to ride on..RE.. The Pinenut Mountain range.. no off road sticky's required yet.
Some pic's...started at 5000' to over 7000'..talk about windy and cold up there where the Cross is.....I am beat up...my sore Azz. Today was a very cool day compared to all summer. haha even CC05 left his Busa in the Garage. The last pic is where i was headed..Mount siegle...,,steep steep.. lots of wheel spin...going up. was so happy i made it up to the top. Ps years ago my best friend Bobby now deceased... drove up there in a 4x4 and spent the nite.....Makin' coffee in the Am....in the back of the truck bed... was windy then too...good memories...

Ralph that is some great stuff there, very jealous of the off road area you have...

Thanks Cap.. the cross up there...was put up by his Widow... he perished in a horrible crash years ago.. on a bike.. they scatterd his ashes up there.

Man that's awesome sights right there .
A .22 pistol , couple boxes of ammo and a deserving coke can as well as your dirt bike and you could have fun for days !

It was so windy and cold.. up there... 22 bullet would blow away as soon as it left the barrel....hahaha.. Thnx

I used to have a Ktm 500mxc, loved the bike, hand full though, glad to see 2 strokes are still alive! wish I was riding with you..

Yes, we who live here.. are lucky so far.............theres been talk.....though....
Just got this KTM 300EXC recently.. had a 450 MXC.. it had a sweet engine...have not had a 2-smoke since 1989!!!....My 73 mile ride helped me learn the bike and power band...It is amazing how much low end it has....rocky slippery climbs.. and when the Power Valve opens...at halfway to redline....it just screams like a MX bike.....
The second to last pic is looking west at the Mighty Sierra's. Last, safe back at the truck.... Did not see anyone on a bike or Quad on the whole trip....
I was on a road that led to several house Waaay Waaay back in the hill's Scary..Glad no Dog's came after me.. or gun toting red necks... Made me think of the "D" word.

I was stationed at NAS Fallon for 5 years. Fallon was a small dinky town but it was nice quiet living. What I miss the most about the area is riding up Geiger's grade to Virginia City, Mt. Rose hwy to Lake Tahoe, some occasional 4 wheeling at Sand Mountain and shooting guns out in the desert. I miss going to Atlantis Casino for their seafood buffet also. Was my favorite buffet in town. Oh so goood!!!! I hated that place when I first got there. But as I seat hear and write this, makes me think back and realize how much my family and I enjoyed it there.

Nice pics Ralph! And yeah, hang tuff for a ride plan this weekend mi amigo.
For you gun plinkers; a few short miles towards the southeast out of Carson City and you can shoot all you want without worry of hitting anyone or anything but your target. My son and I frequently take day long exploratory hikes and target shooting adventures out in the desert. Gotta love it!

Thanks again for the nice comments.. i want to do it soon again... we live in snow country.. but sometimes its just perfect out there wet dirt..[re] no dust.. 3-4- 5 of us
riding the single track..sand washes.. horsepower hill...fire roads..And it keeps me fit for a 59 year old...been banged up a few times out there...though.. Ok got to get ready for work... 6pm to 4am...

Ralph! Nice pics, I wanna go one day... ??? But I gotta get a dirt bike first.

You should meet my friend in Hilo, he is about 70 yrs of age, rides his CBR 1000RR like Pedrosa and his KTM like nobody... here are some shots he sent this week from the Big Isle.
