Pair Valve

OK winter is hear time for the mods, anyone know what the story is with the Pair valves on the 08, can they be blocked off?

on edit: I've been corrected. It is different from the gen 1 bikes.

Really I thought they were located over by the air box. Bike makers have been using the solution by dilution for so long I'm surprised that the 08's did not need it with the new regulations there faced to meet.

Yes their is a PAIR valve and it was relocated above the valve cover.

Well I could be wrong then. Where are they injecting the air?

The air is injected through two reed valves on top of the valve cover, down through the center of the head, and then to the exaust port.

Doesn't it allow unburnt fuel to get burnt off on the exhaust - to clean up emmissions?

Actually the pair valve just let's air into the exhaust stream so when it is tested there is clean air mixed with the dirty exhaust air resulting in a lower hydocarbon value.
