I'm planing to ride Palomar mountain, probably next Thursday and I've been looking over my maps and I'm wondering what the best route through it is. (I don't wan't to miss the best parts)

Looks like (from LA, ) 15 South 76 ... then to???

Your thoughts are appreciated.

+1

I think we did the South Grade and East grade last outing. It lives up to the hype!!!

Great road. You're gonna love it!

Big thanks to CharlesBusa for the custom area maps !

I'll let you know how it goes!

Yeah I used to run this road every weekend back in 1989 and 1990, at the top is Mothers. Great roads. Lots of people too. I miss those times. Worth the ride!!!

Well... it didn't this week. Everyone else ended up with other stuff to handle, so I spent the day on my own. I ran Azusa Canyon to Mt. Baldy and then Angeles Crest to Newcomes Ranch for dinner. Then on Friday, I ran the crest again. Wow, Big Tuhunga road is fast. Great two days of riding, perfect weather, beautiful days. We're planing to do Palomar this coming week if all goes well and

if the weather holds out.

I let you know!

Well, we rode Palomar mountain yesterday... On the ride there, I was thinking "This mountain can't be as worth this distance...", but

WOW!

I loved those twisties!

We ran the "South Grade" to the top and were supposed to go back down the "East Grade" which is much faster, but decided we just couldn't leave without riding that again! So back down the South Grade (OMG!) What a rush!

Charles... next time you're up for it, we'll run Palomar South Grade and you'll have to work to keep up... heehee

PS...It was about 300Miles round trip

You got to run Palomar on a weekday! bEAUTIFUL! That road kicks a$$. Everytime Lamb goes he wears the sides off his tires! You didn't miss a thing not riding the back side, the road is kind of beat up. How you like those perfect corners one after the next. That place can be a mother on the weekends, lots of bikes going fast and some scary incidents. Here is a pic of one of my days aftermath!!

Ouch, I can see where it would be easy to lowside those corners. So much fun, but I kept wondering..."When is this corner going to end???"

I'm used to slowing up a bit on a straight after every few turns to make sure I didn't lose anyone riding behind me, but on this hill, there's no place to slow. Every stretch is a blind corner.

There was lots of traffic getting there, but once we got there, there was nobody on the mountain. Definately a weekday ride!

What a blast!

Palomar is one of the best roads!!!

Its biggest negative is traffic, so if you didn't run into any, it had to

Plus that road doesn't have drop off cliffs and its slow speed. So low-sides can often be riden away from. If you have to crash, crashing slow is best

Lamb...whn did that happen? I've never noticed that damage on your bike.

Lamb ground the stator cover and the fairing respectively. The busa handles like a mother! *I don't care what anybody says* It's there DD, take a look!
