Question: Do you have to have a firm religious foundation to become a Mason?

No sir, but it helps. We only require that you believe in a higher being. However, I will tell you from very recent and personal experience that the entire process is very deeply steeped in religion. I can see where it could be confusing to those who don't have a very firm grasp on their religious beliefs.

If it helps, I researched this for two years before joining. I, like many others, was afraid I would be joining a cult. It's the furthest thing from that and I was pleasantly surprised. Freemasonry grants you complete religious autonomy.

I need to find some time to finish mine

Dude, make time. I'm literally on Cloud 9 right now knowing that I've earned my way to Master Mason. Sure, it was hard and very tedious, but anyone can do it if they try hard enough and want it badly enough. I promise you'll view yourself in a new way when you get there.

Question: Do you have to have a firm religious foundation to become a Mason?

Most likely if you have a firm religious foundation you will not become a mason. I had made it through the York rite when I got serious about my religious beliefs, wasn't long after I got serious with Jesus Christ that I found things of the lodge that conflicted with scriptures, I have since denounced the lodge.
