PC-V Map - Yosh Full, stock filter

Hey Guys,

I installed my PC-V the other night and it had a bit of a small miss in the upper speeds. It also was just a bit on the flat side it seemed. I made a map myself and it pulls like a freight train and runs very smooth.

If anyone has an 08-09 running the PC-V with a Yosh full exhaust I would like to send it to you and have you see what you think of it. My Yosh happens to be the RS-3 , but it should be extremely close for the R-77 as well. Just looking for some input.

Send me a PM if you want to try it out, please only people that have the above set up or close, I am looking for feedback from people who can actually use the map.

Thanks,

I think if you have a base map you can do them fairly close by ear if you know what you are doing. In no way do I think you could get close without a base, so yea I agree. If you get one like that in the shop and want to give it a twirl let me know Frank.

Thanks,

I already had an '09 come in with a full Yosh, PCV, and BMC race filter. The powercommander had a map loaded from Dynojet for that exact setup. Prior to mapping, I made some baseline pulls and got a best of 188 at 105 ft-lbs. After mapping, the bike made 197 at 115 ft-lbs. The customer is a board member. You can do whatever you want "by ear", and think whatever you want. I spent a lot of money on some of the best equipment money can buy, and I use it to its full advantage. Having access to a dyno and spending over ten years tuning on a dyno are definately two different things. There is no substitute for experience, and good equipment.

With that said, I would NOT load one of my own maps that took a few hours to build on the dyno in another bike with the same setup, and consider that it is right. Every bike is different, and no one map will work. Again, you can get away with anything you want to, and think its right. I don't care if you are Brock Davidson, Bob Carpenter, or Jack O'Malley back from the dead . . . a base map is just that, a generic map is also - something you may want to start with, but no substitute for a custom map by an experience, well-seasoned dyno tuner . . .

I don't doubt what you are saying one bit Frank. I read about the board member bringing his bike to you, great stuff.:beerchug:
